Our practice is to engage with local communities in relation to matters of mutual interest and concern. At a local level, where Morgan Advanced Materials often has long-established roots and is frequently a major employer, this helps to foster mutual understanding and credibility.
We strive to be a valued member of the communities in which we have operations; to respect local culture and to be sensitive to local issues and aware of wider community and governmental issues.
The implementation of our community-related policies and procedures is aligned with the management of our overall business and is focused at site level on engagement and initiatives which are relevant to the local community and to our business. Business and Group support is made available where appropriate.
Political donations are prohibited and charitable donations sponsorships are made in line with the Group’s Donations and Sponsorships Policy, recorded via our financial accounting system and monitored by Group Compliance. In 2015 the Group made charitable donations of £84,046 and sponsorships of £24,172 which included:
- £13,000 donation to the Outward Bound Trust (UK)
- £1,000 donation to a local German hospice
- £1,500 sponsorship of a local Italian youth football team
- £150 donation to a US Alzheimer’s foundation
