Community

We aim to have a positive impact on the communities we serve, from supporting job creation and skills advancement to reducing energy and water consumption at our plants.

As our sites and operations are spread across the globe, we have the opportunity to work with many communities. We get involved at a local level and look to understand each community’s priorities and concerns.

We also pride ourselves on having some of the most passionate and inspiring people working at Morgan. Not only do our people have a real love of science, maths and technology, but many also follow that passionate spirit through into other aspects of their lives by giving back to their local communities.

We want our people to have the freedom to support what they care about most. We share these stories through our internal social media platform Yammer, where you will often see the generous spirit and nature of our employees - from bake sales to cultural celebrations and charity donations to sponsorship events.

What do our people get up to?

Supporting local education

Our people give back by supporting the education of those in their local communities too. Our Saint Marcellin plant welcomed students from the Lyon CESI engineers school, to complete internal audits on the site. Six students visited our site and had the opportunity to apply their audit knowledge to real life situations, with the support of our wonderful local team. The collaboration was managed by our EHS apprentice, Nelly, who was keen to ensure that we were supporting local education. The audit collaboration was a great success and helps to strengthen a developing partnership between Morgan and the CESI engineers school.

Engaging our people

Our people are working hard to create an inclusive environment across Morgan. Our New Bedford team have a dedicated ‘Employee Engagement Committee’, focused on bringing their people together.  We don’t have space to talk about all of their wonderful activities, but here are just a few of the ways they are building their Morgan community.

The whole site came together to celebrate Pride Month across the site; from buying cupcakes to give to their employees and gifting Pride pin badges to their employees, and a dress down day where employees from each department wore a different colour of the rainbow to raise awareness; the team went all in to educate their people and come together.

The team also partnered with a small, local company to organise emotional support animal visit from therapy dogs. This fun session was attended by many people across the site, to boost their mood and give a fun break away from their day-to-day roles. What a great way to focus on employee wellbeing!

Good clean fun

Our people love to give back, often committing their time to sustainable activities too! Our Singapore team spent time together cleaning up their local park, helping to make their community space better for everyone  in their local community. The team had a great day, making a positive eco-impact for residents in their local community.

Our people inspire us, and we’d love for them to inspire you too

We’re proud to share that this our Toolroom Team Leader Tim and his family have been named 'Cycling Family of the Year 2024' by the UK's biggest cycling Charity, Bikeability.

The family achieved this wonderful recognition for their contributions to cycling, here are just some of their incredible actions:

  • Mum Kara and Dad Tim are coaches, teaching riders young and old all aspects of cycling; from complete beginners to seasoned racers and everything thing in between
  • Tim helps with his cycling club’s ‘Limitless’ program, aimed at offering access to cycling to everyone, supporting individuals with physical and learning impairments
  • Kara is representing GB in her age category in triathlon and is off the France in September to the European Championships.
  • Daughter Hermione races in both circuit (tarmac) and cyclo-cross (muddy off road) and was number one in west midlands in her age category two years running
  • Son Josh competes in the same races as his sister and also rides on the velodrome, which is a lot harder than it looks, with a corner bank of 42 degrees and fixed gear bike, meaning you can’t stop pedalling
We’re so proud of the support our people provide to others in their local communities.
